Linda Heiland

Linda Heiland has served in a variety of higher education leadership positions over the past 19 years. She has held Vice President of Academics positions in both community colleges and the career college sector. Over that time she has worked as a consultant with colleges throughout the United States and presented at multiple conferences in the United State, Canada and Mexico. She is well published in numerous professional journals related to best practices for student learning outcomes assessment, academic quality and community engagement.
She has effectively mentored multiple institutions through the processes and procedures associated with both national and regional accreditation agencies, programmatic accreditation, and federal compliance audits. Currently, Ms. Heiland works as a private educational and general consultant for public, private, non-profit and for-profit entities and organizations. She also serves as the Project Leader, Proprietary College Division with the Collaborative Brain Trust in Sacramento, CA and as a Federal Compliance Peer Reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.
For the past sixteen years Ms. Heiland has been instrumental in assisting multiple institutions with developing impact studies related to current and projected programming, market analysis and other key institutional effectiveness metrics related to marketing and enrollment. She has worked extensively with economic modeling as a tool to assist institutions in developing a better understanding of their market share and its impact on student enrollment and institutional growth. Through economic modeling and projection analysis studies, programmatic analysis and innovative community partnerships, Ms. Heiland has been able to develop focused institutional processes and procedures that have helped institutions develop current, appropriate curriculum for strong institutional growth.
Ms. Heiland grew up in the Deep South, obtaining her Bachelors’ degree from Belhaven College in Jackson, MS; a Master’s degree in Education from Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS and has completed the coursework for an EdD in Higher Education Leadership and Management with Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. She also successfully completed a Post Graduate certificate in Higher Education Leadership and Management with the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
